Welcome   This site and association of members is for anyone with the surname Stone, lineage or marriage connection and others with a genealogical/historical interest in the Stone Family. These web pages are dedicated to the sharing of research concerning the Stone Families of pre 1700 UK and the early colonial U.S. Stone lines.Within these pages you will links to the most recent research we, and association members have compiled and links to help you further your research. We are also attempting to add collateral family lines (of the first few generations), particularly those of Hugh Stone and descendants although if you search our Hugh Stone database, you will find a good amount of information in the various submitted family gedcoms. Submit our on line registration form.  This web site was created in October 1996 by Byron T. Stone of Baroda, MI. [Former Webmaster] and his cousin, Roger B .  Stone of Reston, VA. [data base administrator], descendants of John Stone [1674], third son of Hugh and Abigail Busecot Stone. The site has a great deal of information about the Hugh Stone of Rhode Island descendants and only limited information about the 22 other colonial [immigration before 1660] families. We are continually adding to the site and hope to avail members to information about ALL Stone lineages. Our online searchable data bases [over 25,000 names] iare comprised of the descendant families of Hugh Stone of Rhode Island, a second database has been added comprised of descendents of Simon Stone of Watertown, MA.  and a third for descendents of Philip Stone of PA.We hope to continue these databases to include the families of  Deacon Gregory Stone, John and William Stone of Guilford, CT., John Stone of Beverly/Salem, MA as well as many others.   UPDATE (3/1/05) : Web site administration is now being maintained by Laurie Carpenter, long time Stone Family Association member and researcher.
